Linda Leicht has been a
professional involved with the medical field for 21 years.
In 1999, her
enthusiasm for Corvettes became more than a hobby.
With her husband, they began
to buy mid-year project cars and sell them to other enthusiasts.
That was the
beginning of vetteseller.com. The rest is now history!
In 1962 Raymond Lewis Leicht,

The "Next Step" - The "Restorod"
After two years of research, we felt that the Street Shop, inc. Chassis was the best on the market. In 2005 we became a Street Shop, inc. "Dealer" and ordered three C2/C4 Chassis.
As time progressed, we saw the need to use the C5 Suspension, as well as the C4. At that point, we asked Tray Walden, Owner of Street Shop, inc., to develop a C2/C5 Replacement Chassis. With the C/5 "Donor" Chassis and Drive line that we provided, Tray was able to develop the C2/C5 Chassis that could be used with the C5 Transaxle, Torque Tube and LS Motor. This was a great combination.
The only negative was the amount of body modification to the center tunnel due to the Transaxle. This problem was overcome by a "C5 Differential Adapter" that we designed and had developed and manufactured. At present that Adapter has a Patent(s)applied for. This unit allowed for the use of a standard Driveshaft and a forward traditional Transmission, such as a Tremec 5 speed, with either a Stock or LS Motor.
We had the desire to expand our Chassis capabilities into other areas and a greater market.
Street Shop, inc. had decided to proceed with the Viper (Dana) Based Differential on the C5/C6 Rear Suspension.
Our desire was to develop a complete C5 Chassis for the 53 thru 82 Corvettes, along with a Dealer Program that would allow for National Distribution of our new Chassis. The idea had been developing since the spring of 2009.
After several prototypes, we settled on a design that would accomplish our goals for the Chassis.
Safety was the First Concern. For the rails, we decided to use 3x4 inch, Box Welded Tube. The Box Tube used on the Chassis is "A500" Structural Steel with a .125 (11 gauge) Wall Thickness. All Joints, Brackets and Attachments to the Chassis are "Mig" Welded on a Jig Table with Permanent Fixtures to avoid variance and distortion from one Chassis to the next. This process assures exact replication of the Chassis.
The Second Concern was the Handling of the Chassis. Exact GM Specifications and Geometry have been maintained throughout the design of the Chassis. Even when Components were narrowed or modified, they were kept to the "Factory" Dynamics.
The Third Concern was the Ride of the Chassis. It was decided to develop the Chassis so it could use an "Original" Style, Front and Rear Transverse Fiberglass Spring, or have the Option to install aftermarket Coilover Shocks/Springs.
Our last Concern was for the Durability and Appearance of the Chassis. For this cause, we decided to use a "Five Step" process. All of the welds on the Chassis are "Box Sealed" so that there is no standing water on the inside of the Chassis. After Fabrication, the Chassis is Media Blasted to remove any foreign material used in the prep process. The next step is a Chemical Wash/Prep to further insure proper adhesion of the Powder Coat. A Powder Coat Primer is then applied to the Chassis and Oven Baked. The Final Step in the Process is to apply a Gloss Black "UV" Protected Powder Coat and again put it through the baking process.
Chassis Concepts C1/C4 Chassis #7 was displayed at the Olde Towne (Kissimee, FL) NCRS Swap Meet in January, 2010. The response was overwhelming. Look for our other new Designs at a Swap Meet (check out our schedule) near you.
Then came a '58 that needed
a rear clip in '63.
In '64 he got a '57 “Fuelie” and then a wrecked '63 Split-Window.
